An interesting question which...

has no right answer. Or so I think…

I’m interested in hearing what you guys think about the Common App Short Answer response. Here’s my question

What do you think is the most important emphasis of the three in the 150 word essay?

what roles you played in an extracurricular (aka did community service, led a team, saved the world…etc)

how the extracurricular affected you (motivated you in school, changed your personality, inspired you to save Gotham City…etc.)

what accomplishments you achieved in your extracurricular (won awards, received recognition, or just what made you different)

Seeing as there’s only 150 words to elaborate…I believe I am not the only one to have thought about this question and considered my approach to the essay a conundrum

so…what do YOU think is the right answer haha

Probably the second, since talking too much about #1 and #3 might make it sound like you’re just in it for the awards or the officer positions. Sounds like #1 and #3 (especially #1) should be more for background info. It’s probably best to have some sort of balance, though.

yep…I’m shooting for a balance. From advice that’s been given to me, most people seem to consider 3 the least important and 1 the most. I seem to find an essay with 1 but not 2 very boring though.

i’d seay def no2…
