An international student in search of opportunities

I dream of getting into a great school, but I am from Colombia and find it difficult. First of all, good colleges are extremely expensive, and I dont have excellent grades (about a 8.6 GPA) in order to apply for a scholarship. I am a student council member and have a few Ap’s, is that enough to even give it a try? I feel im too avarage! What do you think?

Hello mptrillos,
Well I do think that your chances are good, well to tell you the truth prestigious schools are really hard to be admitted to, I really want you to know that with that curriculum you are never going to obtain a scholarship. You can get more involved with school and maybe raise your GPA to a 90-92.
You can enter a college but without a scholarshipand with a lot of money.

I believe your chances are good having an AP and being in STUCO. What do you think about someone without AP’s or any extracurricular activities? Now they are average. Still you probably still have lots of time and years to improve.
