I am applying ED to Princeton, so I will have less dates to take some standardized tests. The problem is that I haven’t taken my SAT IIs yet. There are two testing dates that I could use for either SAT I or SAT II before I have to submit it to Pton. I have a pretty bad SAT score right now, a superscore of about 2110, and one individual of 2080. I have really studied for this next one, which is in October. I am even memorizing over a thousand vocabulary words. My thoughts, however, are that I should take the SAT IIs on October, and make sure those are good. If they are, then I’ll take the SAT I in November; if they are bad, I could just use my ACT scores in lieu of the SAT I and take the SAT IIs again in November. I would be really disappointed if my SAT IIs aren’t good, since I will have wasted all of this time studying for the SAT I, which I wouldn’t be able to take again.

Is this a good plan? I’m taking the SAT IIs in Physics, Math IIC, and Literature.

I hope that it’s a good plan because it’s exactly what I’m planning to do.

I had a pretty good SAT (2310) but my problem is that my math section was somewhat low comparatively (I got a 710 math and 800s in the other sections). Although my ACT was alright too (34 composite), I took it cold and I definately think that I could do better. However, I also think that I could do better on the SAT (math is usually my best section on practice tests and I have no clue what happened). A third element of my problem is that I have a cross country meet on November 5 (or whenever the test date is) and if I don’t attend the meet, I’ll be disqualified from our state meet.

So, this is my plan (I don’t know whether this is helpful or not):
Take the ACT in September (I live in Florida).
Retake the ACT if necessary
Take the SAT IIs in October (I haven’t taken any either)
Register for the SAT IIs in November

The last point is the most important one. I won’t know my SAT II scores from October until after I have to register for the November test. However, once registered I can change my SAT IIs (in case I did well enough on the ones that I took). I don’t know if I can change a SAT II test to a SAT Reasoning test, but I can always go standby. Ideally though, I’ll do well enough on the ACT to preclude the necessity of another SAT testing. Also hopefully, since my math section was the main section lacking, my ACT math score (currently 34) and my SAT II Math II will override this incident. I’m really trying to avoid having to miss my state meet.
