An unconventional (or not?) essay topic

I wrote a college essay about my bookshelf. The basic idea was taking a little “tour” of my bookshelf, connecting certain books to key milestones/turning points in my life.

Do you think that will work? I know that its pretty much the opposite of the classic college essay template (expanding a insignificant event–instead I condense a huge event, my life). Could it be less effective because of this?

anyone???

I think you need a more specific point of focus within your life. You can still use the bookshelf to explore that, though.

I was afraid of that!
It just felt like the best way to connect the many diverse aspects of my life.
I guess I should just trash the whole idea?
