And I thought I spent too much time on the internet

Actually I know I waste too much time on my computer. At least it’s just my housework not getting done.

Back when my girls’ were really young, my grandmother and mother would come by sometimes, and my grandmother always wanted to look at the latest pictures I’d taken. “Oh, so beautiful,” she’d say. “Girls! Be quiet! I’m trying to look at the pictures!” This to the two live kids in front of her.

I used to think this was hillarious.

The story about these parents? Not so much. How awful.

God, that is sick.

poetgrl, I’ve seen that, too, but it annoys me to no end. I hate it when people, for example, spend an entire family event operating a video camera in order to preserve the memories…which they are not a part of.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if the case of Virtual Baby 1, Real Baby 0 is just an extreme case of the same problem.

Oh, at first it annoyed me, but then, like anything you can’t change, it just got to be funny. My H and I do a routine about it. My brother and sister had kids after us and we laughed so hard when they said, “OMG! She really does that!”

I think it is an extreme example of the same thing.

Of course, once last year, my D came in to ask me a question about her college application and I said, “Wait. I’ll be in in a minute. I have to finish this.” “This” was a thread I was reading about someone else’s admission journey on CC.

Oh, and off topic: Mantori I thought about you the other day when my D played me the soundtrack to Alice in Wonderland. I thought, Mantori Suzuki will like this. And I’ve never even met you!
