<p>I thought this might be fun for all of you to see. A family friend, Maya Days, who is campaigning for Hillary, sang at a recent event in NYC and someone filmed her! Maya has been in several Broadway shows and is currently on the tv show Damages with Glenn Close and Ted Danson. I thought it was fun to see an MT actor singing the national anthem because she truly acted the song, which certainly isn’t the norm with this song.</p>

<p>Sorry if I hijacked from the good Maya performance, but when I saw Maya and National Anthem, I just couldn’t help myself. I have seen that video so many times and I laugh out loud every time I see it. Did you guys know that Maya Rudolph is Minnie Riperton’s daughter - her mother died when she was very young, but she inherited the pipes. You have to be my age to remember Riperton.</p>

<p>momsonfaith, I think Maya may have attended a community college very briefly but she is not a college graduate. She’s been working steadily since she was very young. She had long runs on Broadway in Rent, AIDA, and Jesus Christ Superstar, and has done many off-Broadway shows. What keeps her busiest, even with the tv series, though, is her own music.</p>
