At first it was “And you got into Harvard?!” from my friends, family, and everyone who knows me every time I did something wrong, said something stupid, or just embarassed myself. I thought perhaps the silliness would end once I chose Yale, but alas, it has simply taken a different form. I know I am not alone here.

So for theraputic effect and for the entertainment of others, tell us the stupid stuff you’ve done that was followed by “and you’re going to YALE?!”

I’ll start: at a family gathering around Easter time when I announced my decision to the family, my uncle told me to flip a light switch that was second from the right. I reacted on the word “second” and flipped the wrong of two switches, giving the impression that I can’t tell left from right. “AND YOU’RE GOING TO YALE?!!!”

So I kind of failed a AP English reading quiz that we checked in class because I hadn’t really slept the night before. As my teacher walked around and took the papers from us she’d give approving nods etc. When I gave her mine, she paused and asked loudly “How the hell did you get into Princeton!?” while waving it in the air.
(She didn’t say Yale, but close enough)

I know somebody who went to Harvard over fifteen years ago, and he still gets “And you went to HARVARD?” when he does something stupid. Apparently it never stops.

That sucks, brahms! Luckily I haven’t really bombed anything since it all went down, but if I did I can imagine a couple of my teachers saying something like that.

wait what about Oregon Community College
I get it all the time " and you are going to oregon community college" like I should be a genius or something

Well, from personal experience, I prefer “And you’re going to YALE?” to “And you got into Yale? I didn’t think you were that smart.” :D

Two of my uncoordinated friends failed at high-fiving each other twice in a row today, and I was going to say “And you’re going to WHARTON and HARVARD?” but I remembered this thread and stopped. ^_^
