In the “Optional Additional Documents” section, students sometimes choose to submit, for example, a resumé or CV, an award, or an additional writing sample. It is perfectly fine to not submit anything extra.
Hi. I want to write another essay or short paragraph about something cool and unique i thought I did. I also don’t want to turn in nothing for an optional opportunity. Should I, even though it’s not a writing sample from school?
Well, what would you write it about? This is quite limited information. I’m not really sure how well this translates over from college applications, but most colleges don’t want to see another essay in the Optional Information section.
I wouldn’t stress too much about this either way: If you don’t get in, it’s very likely not due to leaving that section blank as Andover is a highly rejective prep school.
How I am very interest in pursing programming in highschool, and how i created and published a mobile game app on the app store. I know leaving an optional section blank won’t be the reason for a rejection, but won’t it boost my chances and improve the AOs thought of me. Thank you.
That’s impressive! Is that listed anywhere else in your application? If not, then I would write about that, especially if you can tie in any challenges you faced while creating the app. Good luck!
