I don’t think they need societal approbation; or maybe it’s that I don’t need societal approbation.
That’s part of what perplexes me about mommy wars. “You should support my choice to …” Well, no. You don’t really “need” my support any more than you need my “support” to paint your living room yellow or serve chicken and rice for dinner tonight. Unless you are harming your child in some way or asking me to pick up the tab, these choices just aren’t my business or my concern. I don’t “support” or “not support” working mothers or SAH mothers. I just leave them alone to do their own thing.
