I didn’t want to encroach on the other bag thread, so I started my own
I currently have this bag:
http://www.amazon.com/Kipling-Eldorado-Small-Shoulder-Size/dp/B0025YCR4Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428588989&sr=8-1&keywords=kipling+eldorado
It’s held up, and I love it, but it’s getting a little old, and my birthday is coming up. We do wish lists in my family for birthdays, so I am thinking of adding a bag to mine. The question is - which one? As I mentioned, I love the bag that I currently have, so the easy solution would be to just go with that, but I also like to try out new things, not just stick to one product. Does anyone have a bag around this size that they love?
The dimensions of the one I have is what I want to stick with. I can’t go any smaller, because I carry my Kindle Voyage in it, and it has to fit into whatever bag I choose. I wouldn’t want to go much bigger either, just because I don’t want to carry a big bag every day. Other than my Kindle, I carry my camera, phone, keys, some credit cards, and that’s it - nothing else.
I don’t want anything that’s leather. I would prefer something that’s durable and can take a beating, because I literally take the little bag everywhere with me.
If you have a favorite bag, let me know!
Here’s a good list. My daughter had that Kipling bag. It’s very good.
I have been very happy with Rosetti bags. There are some on Amazon, but they can be found in Kohls (where I got my latest on sale for <$30) and Sears or Penny’s. They come in a variety of colors, I don’t believe they are leather, and they hold up well. Mine is wider than it is high, but would easily fit the things you carry. It has been everywhere every day for a year and is like new. I had another one for much longer that I wore out.
I have the Tom Bihn Ristretto bag from that list.
I like it, very very sturdy, although I would like more color combinations. Plus they are made locally.
Oh sorry, Tom Bihn apparently only makes a small laptop size now in the Ristretto. ( I originally bought it for my iPad) they do have smaller bags, & padded sleeves, but I’m guessing you already have a case.
I have used Overland bags for years. They don’t wear out, but I used to use the smaller ones when all I needed was a smallish phone and a wallet, now I have a bigger phone, a Kindle & an iPad. I also like to be able to put a sweater in it.
This I posted on the other thread.
I bought it at a climbing store, this is a good price.

Look at REI or other outdoor equipment stores for bags that will last without dept store prices.
But for a small bag for your Kindle, unless you need vegan, there are also leather bags that hold up well, I like unlined ones that can take a slight color change when I apply beeswax or other waterproofing.
( btw, is that your first Kindle, how does it compare to the others?)
Thank you all for the advice! I will start looking through these! Keep them coming.
@emeraldkity4, this is my second Kindle. I got the Paperwhite about 2 years ago, and it literally changed my life. I went from someone who wasn’t a big reader to someone who now reads pretty much every day. I absolutely loved it! When the Kindle Voyage came out, I was drooling over it (love gadgets - you might call me an “early adopter” of technology). But with a perfectly good Paperwhite, I couldn’t justify the cost of a new Kindle, just because I wanted to try it. Well, my best friend generously surprised me with one for Christmas
I must say, I love it! It’s definitely not a necessity - it’s not that different from a Paperwhite, and I wouldn’t say you need an upgrade, but I do like the slightly smaller device size (fits better in my tiny bag that I linked to). The letters are a bit more crisp. I came to really enjoy the automatic light adjustment, and I do like the virtual page-turn buttons on the sides. As a negative, because of the improved screen/size, the battery life is listed as shorter, but I haven’t really noticed that so far - probably because with the automatic light adjustment, I save some battery life. Again, I wouldn’t upgrade and spend the $200, because the Paperwhite is almost as great, but I agree with some comments describing the Voyage as a ‘luxury’ e-reader.
Overall, if you don’t have an e-reader, I would highly recommend one. It’s just a completely different experience than reading on a phone or a tablet, which I tried and didn’t like at all. As I mentioned, I love gadgets, but an e-reader has become my favorite gadget!
Thanks, I was wondering, because I have a Paperwhite, because ereaders make reading a little easier, but I wish the screen was a little better.
I also miss the feel of paper.
But I love the battery life, although it is long enough that I misplace the cord in between charges!
Maybe you could try the Voyage out in Best Buy or Staples, because if the screen is what’s bothering you in the Paperwhite, maybe the improved resolution will make a difference!
How did we get from cross body purses to ereader preferences?
I want the Coach swagger 27 colorblock cross body bag.
I didn’t mean to get off topic, but I was curious about the newer Kindle.
Carry on.

I just wanted to post an update.
I ended up getting this bag in violet: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L15T0P4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=D7QDTBVZIXEH&coliid=I3PVKONNVR4V1Q&psc=1
So far, I love it! I think it’s nicely balanced. I love all the pockets. I can fit my Kindle, camera, small note pad. comb, cell phone, cards, keys, and phone (there is room for more, but I don’t really need more and don’t want to overload).
I am really enjoying it!
A useful Baggallini is worth it’s weight in gold!!!
Finding THE bag is a huge deal.
enjoy!
