Another car rental question (SC to Florida)

<p>As some of you may know, I am going to Florida for vacation, and I was planning to drive down. The car prices I found to rent a car for nine days from New York to Miami were really expensive. So, I thought that I could take a train to Charleston, SC and rent a car there. I want to do the drive from SC to Florida no matter what, because that was something I was looking forward to doing, and I will need the car in Florida the entire time, since I am going to be in a different place almost every day.</p>

<p>Can anyone recommend a car rental place that will not be so expensive? The driver is 23, so I know there will be a surcharge, but I would still like to find something under $700 total. Is that possible? Are there any cheap companies that will let me pick up in Charleston and drop off in Miami (that’s the main problem I ran into - I am taking the train back from Miami).</p>

<p>If anyone knows of a NYC to Miami option for under $1000, I would consider that too. I tried all the usual sites (Priceline, etc.) but have come up with nothing so far.</p>

Try BCD# U071101 or X797726. No questions were asked of any of us and the discount was huge.</p>

<p>Toledo, thank you for your response. I called Budget. Unfortuantely, even with the coupons their cars come out to over $1000 from SC to Florida.</p>

<p>Does anyone know of a cheaper car rental place in the area or any Avis coupons (Avis seems to have an overall cheaper rate).</p>
