My GPA dropped my junior year and there is an explanation to an event that occurred and why it affect me but how would I state that? For UC’s we have essays and I could fit it into there but I don’t know what to do with NYU.

I think your GPA is okay for NYU really. A little higher would be better, but it’s not a huge negative from what I’ve seen.

What I would caution against is how much extraneous information you have listed for “statistics”. Where you have traveled means absolutely NOTHING to the admissions office. Don’t list something so irrelevant like that in an application. Also, I would not include “spring honor role freshman year”. I’m not sure how it works at your school, but at mine it’s a joke. Besides, you’re in NHS, so I’m surprised you even have a freshman honor role.

As for explaining a decrease in GPA, I believe that you will have to explain this to your counselor, who in turn will have to write about it in his CommonApp recommendation. If you don’t want to do that, you could write one of your CommonApp essays about this conflict, how it affected you, and how you’ve moved on since then.

Ok thanks for the feedback. This isn’t information I will be including this is just information that I used to create an academic resume to give to my counselor and we were required to write about where we had traveled. Will definitely take your suggestions into consideration. Thank You!
