GPA 9th grade (3.6,3.8) 10th grade (3.83,3.57) 11th grade (3.20,4.00) 12th grade (hopefully 4.6) I had an upward trend and then I experience some difficulties in my life in the year that finished with my sophomore year and began with junior. I was in all regular classes as a freshman and I have taken the steps and gone into higher placed classes. Hopefully this will show some kind of initiative and motivation.

I understand it’s a reach but any suggestions/recommendations at this point that could be made to me if they could help would be greatly appreciated!

you might make it… all that isn’t amazing is your GPA and SAT score, but UCSD has adopted the holistic view, so your chances might look better.

in your essays if you explained the poor GPA end of sophomore/beginning of junior well enough, you might get bonus points or something…

i dont know why you said it’s a reach, i mean everything looks great except the SAT and GPA, and there have been people who have been accepted without great academics, as well as people who have been rejected with overly amazing academics.
you always have a chance
andddd besides
either way, if you don’t get in, UCSD is missing out on a great student, and some other college is getting that great student.
