Another cleaning product question!

What do you use to clean unglazed tile in your bathroom/shower? Every kind of cleaner I look at seems to say only for glazed/sealed ceramic tile.
We have some tumbled marble/unglazed tiles in our master bath.

Are those unglazed tiles actually in the shower? I’d call around to local tile shops and see the best way to proceed. If they are in the shower, I’d be surprised if they were not sealed.

Do you have any extras to test?

I usually use DuPont Stonetech Klenzall But lately I used Clorox bathroom cleaner with bleach and nothing bad happened.

I use Method on my tumbled marble shower. Just never ever use anything acidic like vinegar or anything that cleans hard water deposits.

I also use the Stonetech. My bathrooms (floors, counters, shower stalls and tub deck) are all limestone. It’s been about ten years and everything looks great.

If you have marble: NO ACIDS! It will etch the marble. Or course, if you’d like the marble to be rougher and more rustic, you can use a little vinegar to clean it.

I use a bleach spray on my marble. No problems.

I’ve been told no acids, no vinegar, no bleach … That’s why I feel at such a loss! I have been told to try Dawn dish soap mixed with water in a spray bottle. I’m also going to look into Stonetech. The shower is so pretty I don’t want to risk damaging it.

I inherited my grandmother’s marble-top tables from the early 50s. The label tucked underneath said to clean with ammonia and water, so I have used Windex for seven years with no problems.

I used Dupont’s Sealer and Enhancer to first seal the slate tiles. After that, they aren’t as fussy. I use Dawn mixed with water in a spray bottle. (I love Dawn…use it for all sorts of things.)

I have tumbled marble as a backsplash in the kitchen…also sealed with Dupont’s Sealer and Enhancer. Very easy to clean with Dawn and water.
