<p>Does this look like sufficient passion to get into Yale? I feel all squeamish now because I haven’t won any prestigious awards or anything…I’m not very competitive, I just do this stuff for fun.</p>
<p>Habitat for Humanity (9-12): various local builds, building temporary shelters for tsunami victims in India, probably going down south sometime soon to build houses for hurricane victims</p>
<p>Choir (9-12): about 7 hours a week on average, school choir went on tour with “Mozart’s Requiem,” synagogue choir soloist</p>
<p>Key Club (9, 10, 12): Committee Chair, Treasurer, VP. I was in India junior year, so no Key Club then. Organized canned food drive (raised over 14,000 cans), all sorts of other projects</p>
<p>Speech and Debate (10-12): 5-15 hours a week including research; South India debate session, Varsity Debate team, various awards in Foreign Extemporaneous and Ted Turner debate, Mock Trial “Best Witness” Award, Model UN participant</p>
<p>Howard Dean Campaign (9-10): 6 hours a week; Regional Youth Coordinator, Dialing for Dean Organizer and Precinct Captain</p>
<p>Young Democrats (10, 12): 5 hours a week; again, no YD in India; co-founder, co-president</p>
<p>Yearbook (11): 20-30 hours a week; editor in chief</p>
<p>Latin Ballroom Dancing (12): 4 hours a week; I’m not very good, but it’s just so fun…</p>
<p>Internship with Religion Professor at Butler University (12): 6 hours a week; research on mystical concepts of infinity, research on intersection of science and religion</p>
<p>All-Star Track (11): various awards</p>
<p>All-Star Soccer (11): our team was undefeated by everyone except our men’s team…no thanks to me, since I’m not really that good. I don’t know how I got on the team.</p>
