<p>Santa Barbara- didn’t feel a thing.</p>
<p>Very long sustained waves here near Pasadena.Long waves, with an absence of sound, so we knew it was far away. Our hanging light fixtures kept swaying for a full ten minutes.</p>
<p>Baja California here. </p>
<p>We are just south of Tijuana on the Pacific. About 150 miles (?) from Mexicali where it was centered.</p>
<p>Felt it strongly. Longest duration I have personally felt. We had the rocking and rolling, two mild aftershocks (that I felt). Also, I think, the strongest I have personally felt.</p>
<p>Nothing fell or broke at our place. All the houses in my hillside neighborhood seem fine.</p>
<p>DH saw the water in our fountain sloshing around.</p>

<p>Some of my family and friends in San Diego reported feeling the shaking while a few didn’t.</p>
<p>My UCLA daughter did text me back and forth about being bummed about missing Easter Brunch. Didn’t mention the earthquake. Probably not as forward in her mind as food.</p>
<p>What was different about this one was how long it lasted. Normally you stop whatever you are doing and wait a few seconds for the quake to either get really big or stop. This one did neither. It just kept going and going. Seemed like it lasted nearly a minute.</p>
<p>The thing that never ceases to amaze me about earthquakes is the utter weirdness of them - that something as solid as mother earth is rippling about under your feet like you were standing in a row boat</p>
<p>^^^My husband was also surprised at how long it lasted. I was washing dishes and did not feel a thing, though after he said he thought we were having an earthquake I saw the blinds swinging.</p>
<p>We are in the northwest part of LA county. The dogs did not react at all.</p>
<p>^ I’m on the coast, LA area, and here my dogs, both sleeping on the couch, raised their heads before I actually felt it. Then the long rolling …very strange sensation and unusual. With past earthquakes the windows rattle and I feel jolts. Not with this one, very quiet and “smooth”. Dogs both jumped off the couch and stayed by my feet for a full hour after it was over. We also had lights flickering and my computer went off.</p>
