Another good case for death penalty application

either that, barrons, or let him loose in the general prison population. That was such an horrendous case. I’ll never forget about that little girl.

I cried reading about that poor little girl’s suffering. Life in prison would be my vote for that monster, where he should have a lifetime of suffering himself.

coronax2, I’m with you there. Remember Jeffrey Daumer? Justice will out.

I’m still unsure about the death penalty vs. life in prison. These horrendous crimes, especially against children, I’m willing to agree to just get rid of them. How can you ever atone? Basically, when all is said and done, I think we need to examine each case separately, and leave all punishments options open. Judge the individual case, then convict.

It would have been a lot better if we had executed him the first time he molested a child. Of course the jury back then probably figured he would never be getting out.

So would you rather pay $40,000 a year to incarcerate this guy or $40,000 a year on Headstart? Yeah I know if he gets the death penalty the same people who want to abort babies will tie us up in the courts for decades to keep this guy from getting stuck with a needle. It is OK to crush a kids head and dismember her in a late term infanticide but God forbid this guy gets stuck with a needle by someone without a medical degree because it might unconstitutionally constitute cruel and unusual punishment.

I am studiously anti-death penalty, but I am with you in this kind of a case. What an animal.

higherleader…hmmmm…is it possible to be both for the death penalty and for abortion???

****. 10 chars.

I am against the death penalty…it puts us in the same league as some dispicable countries

and nice try connecting it to abortion…that method a very rare one indeed

but back to the death penalty…I have always and will always be against it…I think we civilized enough a society to not have to resort to it…

Very sad.

I’m not sure what killing or torturing someone who is obviously very sick would accomplish though.

“I think we civilized enough a society to not have to resort to it.”

But no so civilized that we won’t dismember babies? Whatever. Ill leave you to rant with hereshoping.

“is it possible to be both for the death penalty and for abortion???”

Well it is obviously possible and logically consistent at some freightening level. I ned to feel the victim earned their execution through some act of free will.

Those who are against both abortion and the death penalty are the ones that make me feel the most uneasy. I am haunted by the thought they might be better people than me.

higherleader - sorry that you find it frightening. Or freightening.

If you’re against abortion, don’t have one. Or, conversely, don’t get pregnant/get anyone else pregnant unless you choose to have a kid and support it yourself, w/o any state/federal welfare.

“If you’re against abortion, don’t have one. Or, conversely, don’t get pregnant/get anyone else pregnant unless you choose to have a kid and support it yourself, w/o any state/federal welfare.”

I don’t have a problem with that.

“I cried reading about that poor little girl’s suffering. Life in prison would be my vote for that monster, where he should have a lifetime of suffering himself.”

Well, we think he would suffer for his crimes, but I really have no idea. I know that if a reasonable person did what he did, they’d feel suffer for the rest of their life - but a reasonable person wouldn’t do something so horrible. I really have no idea if he’ll suffer or feel guilt, I’d hope so, but.

I am very liberal in nearly all social issues, and I know this is not a rational reaction, but I feel that this man should be executed. Not just executed, but perhaps buried alive.

Michigan has not had the death penalty since 1847, but Stephen Grant could be the “poster child” for reinstatment.
