My funny meet the family card story - college GF from Michigan but had family in Indiana. Spent a Christmas together in Kokomo because her sister had just had a baby. GF had told family that I liked to play cards. They said “Great - we will teach you this Midwest card game called Euchre. We only play for a nickle a hand”. Thought they were going to scam a clueless New Englander. I didn’t volunteer that I had college roommates from Nebraska and Indiana and had played Euchre regularly. Took the family for about $20 in nickles before they finally figured out that I wasn’t just incredibly lucky.
