Another Reason Why Yale is Awesome

So I just found out that the head of my calculus course Math 115, Steven Orszag, is the father of Peter Orszag.

And those who do not know who Peter Orszag is, should be ashamed of themselves.

I had to stare at that name for like five minutes before I realized who you were talking about :stuck_out_tongue: But yeah, that’s so cool! I <3 Yale :)

“Peter Richard Orszag (born December 16, 1968) is an American economist who is currently the 37th Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Barack Obama. He was Director of the Congressional Budget Office when nominated.”

I’m not ashamed at all for not knowing that.

confession: i did not know who peter orszag was either.

Me neither. He isn’t that well-known…

It is really sad that people do not know who he is, considering the fact that he has enormous influence over the financial well being of our country. Besides if people were only marginally paying attention to the coverage of health care reform then they should at least be tangentially aware of who Peter Orszag is.

sorry. his name looks really familiar, and i should know, but i don’t.

Umm, Dbate, chillax. I’m glad you’re finally home and can now proceed to instill your knowledge of random people on CC. I didn’t know who he was either… I knew who Steven Orszag is though!

I’m already missing Bingham… :(

Tangentially aware? Do you perhaps mean marginally or casually?

Also, I knew who he was. I think I’m going to credit my time here at Yale.

No, I meant tangentially aware because every time he is mentioned in an article he is only referenced in relation to health care reform, which is a single issue and therefore he is only a tangent to the larger coverage in the media.

I still don’t think that tangent is the proper term.

Well, you’d be wrong.

peter orszag…has a weird hairpiece. this is why yale is awesome?

Hahaha, Dbate, I am also a debater, and I just want you to know that I gave an Extemp speech in which I quoted Peter Orszag.

So maybe it is the extemp people who know who Peter Orszag is. I know so many obscure political figures from doing extemp so when I find out other people don’t know who they are I am taken aback.

Unfortunately Peter and Barack is leading us to bankruptcy. America public debt is going through the roof.

The correctness is tenuous at best, but it’s probably not worth the time to further argue over its usage.

Peter Orszag quoted a Toby Keith song while testifying before congress. I’m not sure what to make of this.

I actually knew who it was, but that made me feel a little ashamed.

Hey, I knew who he was from debate as well  My coach made us print a ton of extemp articles (and read them)- even for those of us who don’t do extemp (like me). He was mentioned in like a fourth of the econ articles. Well, not that many, but I saw his name quite a few times.
