Unfamiliar number appeared on the display so I didn’t answer the call. Played the voicemail that the culprits left on the smartphone. An allegedly “urgent matter regarding a credit card account that may be now locked.” Being the suspicious guy that I am I dialed the number from a secure phone (blocked number) here at the office. Message at the other end of line said the number is no good and disconnected. Hmmm.

By the way, I don’t even carry the card named in their message. And they never mentioned my bank by name. I’m just annoyed that they have my cell number. But since their information was wrong I guess I don’t need to worry.

I always get those!
Sometimes I also get a robotic voice claiming to be from the IRS. Hah. IRS never calls, only sends certified mail.
Only on our landline though.

We got a robocall saying it was “Apple care” calling to assist us…on our landline.
Since we hadnt called for help with our Apple product that we don’t own, we ignored it.

BUT, the robocall said that they’d call back in 10 minutes and it did! 4 times!
Finally, I picked it up and had to WAIT 5 minutes or so to get a reAl person…
And had to explain that this was an error and to stop calling.
The REAL PERSON then asked for the serial number of the Apple product we were calling about.
NO, just stop calling my number!
