My son knew this young man. I just can’t understand this stuff.

I agree, completely heartbreaking.

murderers are cowards.

Each of these incidents are so horrific. They are so tragic to me and I don’t even know the kids but cannot fathom what it is like for their familes and friends.

I think the word is getting out in criminal circles that students are soft targets with lots of stuff including access to cash. I also think more of these thugs are now migrating to the larger college towns where the ethos is liberal and the cops not as harsh and suspecting–at least at first.

^^ I think you are right. What used to be bicycle and other property thefts have now become robberies and murders.

and since 99% of these murders are with guns…
it makes it too easy to turn what could be ‘just’ a robbery into a murder. One flick of the finger is the difference. Most people know to give up the goods if they are being robbed or threatened and I have no doubt that most people that are murdered aren’t given that chance

It is too soon to say in this case if it is even that sort of crime. Right now, reports are that none of the roommates have been located. There was a party to celebrate the slain boy’s 21st birthday. Not sure this was a robbery. Some of the other horrific cases in recent months have been ones though.

How awful! I’m so sorry that this happened to someone your son knew, MOWC. He must be devastated.

The worst thing is that the article has photos of other students who have been murdered, with links to the stories. Very depressing. People that age are so vulnerable - they tend to be trusting, and they don’t expect danger.

Tragic is right. :(

My thoughts and prayers are with the boy’s family and all who knew him.

Well- he was at the CVS just a couple of hours before he was discovered dead on the floor. I hope they solve this.
