Another W... and Harvard 2+2

I already have two 'W’s on my transcript and I could have taken any elective class in the world but decided to take one that bases tests for most of the grade…

So after failing the last test I have a C in the class and only the final (25% of grade) left to go

A C would tremendously hurt for grad school, even if it is in an elective right? If I have THREE Ws on my transcript, does it hurt my chances even more? My GPA is 3.8 right now.

Also, if anyone knows about Harvard 2+2, how do they look at it?

Grad schools don’t generally see grades from senior fall – unless you take a year or two off after graduation or unless you finish the semester before you send in the application.

Your transcript probably shows the courses in which you are currently enrolled, but it can’t show grades since they aren’t in yet. I suggest that you submit those applications ASAP  .

Is it clear that the OP is a senior?

I’m a junior - hence the Harvard 2+2 question… I really need to make a decision before friday as it is the drop deadline

I cant believe an elective is the class I have to worry about getting a C in the most … amongst all my engineering classes.

A single C on a 3.8 is NOT going to hurt you.

^^ Probably true, considering it’s an elective. If it’s not in your major it shouldn’t be a big deal.

All my programs ask that senior Fall grades be submitted once they are available.

^^ That’s interesting, Kryptonsa. I know that all ask for final transcripts to make sure that the degree was awarded, but I didn’t know that many ask for senior fall grades as well. Many schools haven’t given fall semester grades by the time interviews are requested.

But it doesn’t matter anyway since I read too much into the OP’s dilemma. He’s a junior.

And regarding 2+2, you should look at the business school forum. I don’t think anyone here has any/much experience with MBA programs.
