Have you been to many weddings in the last 5 years or so with pre-recorded music only at the church? My friend noted this is happening a lot in our area. I really do think a pianist/organist/harp etc. is beautiful, so I have to add this to my talk to DIL list.

On a great note, today this friend gave me tons of very nice quality things from her D’s recent wedding–bows, bows, bows, runner, rose petals, candles, lights, baskets, crayon sets for the youngsters–I can’t remember it all, but DIL very excited and can re-purpose all of it.

My D recently told me that she and her fiance are using the same music for their processional that H and I had used. (Although for us it was played on an organ, and she is having a harpist.) She was familiar with the piece from having played it on her flute in a school concert and knew how special it was to us. I have tried to not tell my H, and it will be a special surprise to him. I am touched that they are doing this. (The piece actually suits them quite well.)

But what amazes me is that during the ceremony, they are using a piece that her grandparents (my parents) had played at their wedding – Lizst’s* Liebestraum*. This is a total coincidence, although I do realize that the piece is often played at weddings. I just found out when she sent me her ceremony notes. Such a special coincidence, very meaningful to me.
