Another "Where should I eat in..." thread - Nashville edition

A co-worker and I are headed to Nashville tomorrow morning, we’ll be there for 2 nights, staying at the Hilton Garden Inn near Vanderbilt. Recommendations for (not fancy) dinner? Breakfast? Coffee? Things to see/do after a day at the office (preferably within walking distance of the hotel)?

I’m travelling with a millennial. Neither one of us is a huge country music fan, if that makes a difference…

Pancake Pantry for breakfast.

Some ideas for places to see:

  1. Parthenon Checking the timings though as I'm not sure when they are open, but great view even from the outside.
  2. Downtown is a must! Great music at some of the restaurants/bars/honky tonks! And great river/bridge views!
  3. Country Music Hall of Fame I'm not a country music fan, but I enjoyed it!

Hattie B’s is legendary for Nashville hot chicken. Err on the side of the milder seasonings.
Acme Feed on lower Broadway is also a local favorite.

Walk over to Centennial Park and see the Parthenon replica and walk around the park.

The Vandy bookstore is nice, too, and right across from the park.
Bongo Java isn’t too far and is a good coffee shop.

If you do the Country Music Hall of Fame, be sure to add on the Studio B tour. Best part of the whole thing.

Lots of good restaurants in the 12 South area - Tacqueria del Sol if you like good, fresh, inexpensive Mexican; Josephine for a sit down experience; Burger Up for locally sourced ingredients in all the sandwiches. I always second Pancake Pantry on Hillsboro.

I second Acme Feed. Also FGL House is nice for dinner.

A group of cc moms was just there in October. We did Hattie B’s, FGL House, Acme, the George Jones place.

Bar Taco in the 12 South area is great!
