Who’s taken this class, and what are your impressions of it? I’m registered for it in the fall but I’m starting to have doubts. (I’m an incoming freshie)

You see, I have a huge fear of birds. =( (LOL sad I know) I know handling chickens & roosters is a part of the course, but I’m down with challenging my fear head-on. I’m on the tipping point of deciding whether I should drop it or keep it - and I’d like to know people’s opinions of the course as a whole to help me decide.

In all honesty, I don’t think chickens and roosters will be of much danger to you. Be calm if you ever need to do something hands-on with them and remember they are probably more nervous than you are.

Just keep telling yourself these are not raptor birds and they can’t do much damage to you. They are in fact, just chickens ;p

ANS1 is AWESOME with famula, and the bird part really isn’t that bad, you don’t have to handle it if you don’t want to but they are extremely docile, since they’re all lab animals, they’re used to being handled by people. Petting the chicken felt pretty much the same as petting my cat or dog, except it coo’d and clucked instead of purred, lol
