Is it rude or too outspoken if I say “to be honest it’s the aid program that really caught my attention out of other top tier schools”? (obviously not word by word, would rephrase even if I say that)
Bc I mean that is kind of true. I want to go to a college with strong academics and prestige (like a lot of ppl on this forum) but not all schools with strong academics and prestige have the financial aid program like Yale’s.
It’s not wise. You’ve got to know more about them than aid and prestige.
I concur. If all you’re interested in is prestige and FA, what makes you think they’d be interested in you?
At the end of the day, the purpose of an application is for a student to present him/herself as someone the school might want to have as part of their campus community – someone that will contribute to the school’s mission of “improving the world today and for future generations through outstanding research and scholarship, education, preservation, and practice. Yale educates aspiring leaders worldwide who serve all sectors of society.”
Agreeing with the above. Your answer could apply to a bunch of colleges- and, trust me, Yale sees a lot of differences between itself & Harvard, which has an equally generous aid program. If you don’t see them, it might not be the school for you.
I am going to vehemently disagee with everyone else. Saying I never dreamed of applying to Yale…and then I saw…be specific…about fin aid…and I said…YES!! and applied. It will not hurt you AT ALL.
