Answering Writing Supplements

The prompts for my writing supplements are worrying me. They are just so hard to answer without being cliche. I know the goal of this is to test my creativity, and to see whether I can write something completely unexpected from something so overused. The thing is, I don’t seem to be going anywhere.

The prompts are like “Why honesty is important”. Not exactly, but you get the point. Any advice?

I don’t know why you don’t share the actual prompt. But in the case you show, you might include a story that illustrates your point, and that story can do double duty by showing a glimpse of you and allow you to be analytical with regard to how honesty was important in that context.

Ug for sappy prompts like that.

It is hard to give you advice with out knowing the prompts. If the prompts are hard for you to answer they will take a little extra work and thinking. It is hard for any one on CC to give you advice on what to write about since we don’t know you well so if I where you I would talk to someone like your college counselor for advice.
