Anthony Weiner

“Isn’t this really when you put it all together that he looks perverted?”

Yes. But I was responding to a particular post that said the narcissistic self-portrait snapping was itself a red flag. And I don’t believe it is, without more.

I think that I’m the person who said that the semi-nude self-portrait taking was a red flag. Maybe it is normal for the younger generation, but I don’t consider it normal for a married, 46-yo Congressman.

The latest is bra and panties pictures.

Just had a strange LOL. Opened the email with the latest post from this thread, and there was an ad for a dating service running at the bottom!

jym, I just got the same or similar ad when I opened your post in my email. It was match dot com, lol.

Yup, NEmom!! But it was advertising for singles in Boerne!?!??!!?!

zoos-
Bra and panties? Please don’t tell me he was wearing them…

What’s next - diapers?

jym, the ad I saw just said click onto my age range to find men in my area!

Apparently they think I am in Tx!

I just read that those new pics are from his college days. I don’t really care, ancient history.

Bra and panties? Surely these are not of AW?

God, I hope so.

Oh Lord, I don’t want to know any more. Resign already and stop the madness!

I want more. I thoroughly enjoy the absurdity.

Here is an article from the NY Times (courtesy of our local paper) talking about digital flirting (with some interesting statistics):

[Digital flirting: Easy to do, and easy to get caught | Seattle Times Newspaper](http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/homegarden/2015313042_digitaldalliances14.html)

I agree with that article. I think the kinds of things Weiner was doing was more widespread than some believe. I’m not condoning it, but just saying it is not all that unusual. And yes, many would find Weiner to be a creep and yes, it is an issue for a married person. But what is really dumb and compelling in this case, to me, (though is true of many politicians), is for someone in that position to take this kind of risk (he wasn’t even using an anonymous name!) and think it would not be found out is pretty incredible (same with some other politicians who have been caught). It’s plain stupidity on top of the behavior itself. Then, once caught, to lie to the public is incredible and that itself is a reason why he should step down, whereas the sexting behavior is more between him and his wife (though it unbecoming of his position).

I don’t condone anything Weiner has done. I do think that the photos from him in college dressed up a bit in drag really are irrelevant and just trying to add sensationalism because he wasn’t a congressman or married and apparently it was some get up for some kind of party or event. There is enough bad stuff about him already that that kind of photo really doesn’t need to be on a front page. It just isn’t what the case is really about.

Thank you. And even if this 25-year old photo wasn’t for some kind of party or event, so what? Now we’re the gender police around here? (Although it quite likely was, since 25 years ago anybody who did that kind of thing for any other reason probably would never have done so in public.) Anyway, it’s just people taking any opportunity to ridicule him at this point. Not that he hasn’t done plenty to deserve it, but come on. All the faux horror and pearl-clutching makes some of you sound pretty silly yourselves. Worse than if you were in the 8th grade.

Did anyone pick/guess today as the day he would announce his resignation? It was just reported.

His wife returned from her travels with Hilary yesterday. Gotta believe (hope, for her sake) that is a part of the decision. The news is saying he decided yesterday.
