im trying to decide between the two. what is the anthropology and sociology exams look like? do they only have multiple choice or is it essays with that or is it just essays?

1) Probably depends on professor. But tests probably won’t get too involved because of class sizes for such intro. courses. I would worry about any writing assignments.
2)If anything, they are some mix of identification, MC, and perhaps short answer. Have no idea if they have long essays on exams. As said in 1), I doubt it.

3) Apparently I was wrong. Long essay is fairgame:

Here’s a syllabus: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B456FmeCw42BMDAxMDlhZTktYmExNi00NjMzLTk5YzYtOWJmMjBkNjZhMDUx&hl=en_US

thats from 2002… do you think they would remain that way? the teacher that currently does sociology is tracy scott. does she do long essays on exams?

Yes, I actually think they do remain that way. That’s what’s scary. I say a summer 2010 syllabus, and it was identical.

Research has proven me right: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B456FmeCw42BMGU3ZDY2OWYtZDA1Yy00OTljLTk0NTQtYTkxN2JlNjVkNjI0&hl=en_US

A tracy scott syllabus from spring 2010.
