Talk to your parents about what your budget is for each of the 4 years of college.

Stafford student loans are limited to the following amounts…

frosh: $5500
soph: $6500
jr & sr years: $7500
Total: $27,000 for four years…The monthly payments will be about $310 a month for 10 years. That’s like paying an extra car loan for 10 years.

What is your likely career?

How much do you expect to be earning after graduation?

Ahhh…you want to go to law school. Well, law school is expensive, so if you’ll need to take out loans for that, it’s not a good idea for you to take out loans for undergrad. Otherwise, you’ll end up with too much debt.

Talk to your parents about how you’ll pay for your entire education plan - undergrad and law school. Once you’ve done that, you’ll know what your financial situation is so you can make the best college choice decisions. :)

Again…take the ACT…you might do well enough to get some merit money.
