I’m 31, I have a degree in Mass Communications, a minor in History, and a certificate, but I can’t seem to find any jobs I’m looking. I’m trying to find jobs in writing or tech (computers/robotics), but I never hear back from anybody. The only people I seem to hear back are sales and marketing type jobs I accidentally applied for Ziprecruiter, but I’m not looking for a career related to sales or marketing (I’m introverted). Any tried it, and I didn’t like it. I’ve been at a pizza kitchen assistant and convenient store custodian, because most of the time or never get any calls back. I also enjoy film, but haven’t had any finding film jobs or at least ones where I meet the qualifications. Imm I’m good with animals, but would have good back to school for a science related degree, because I know pet store usually to much except maybe a career as a store manager. Some people have suggested getting a customer service job at a animal or history place (also), but from I’ve read those aren’t very useful at finding careers in those fields. I’m afraid to also take a higher position at my current job because I’m not looking for anything related to food or store management. Any advice that would help out.
Unfortunately, your degree doesn’t look like a computer nor tech-specific education.
Most writers in those areas have backgrounds in business with contracts, budgets, and tech support experience. The online job applications will filter your application if you don’t have degrees specific to the posted job.
Have you had any formal training in those areas?
I have a certificate in Automation Robotics. Forgot to mention that.
