For most of my life, I never took school seriously. I barely graduated from high school. After that I went to a state school, failed two classes and dropped out. I had no dreams or ambitions and began to aimlessly walk the earth for two years. Suddenly, I had a life changing experience (I won’t get into it here). All of a sudden, I began to realize the importance of academics and working within a system. I enrolled at a community college in the fall of 2011 and have been getting straight A’s since. I’m transferring to another state U this fall where I hope to graduate with 3 majors in 2015. I have become involved with a local church but I know that is not enough. I want to be a game changer, an outstanding student, a scholar if you will. I want to go on to do great things- prestigious scholarship, top law school, teach for America, etc. How does someone who starts taking school seriously at 21 compete with kids who were honor society members in 6th grade? I’m very smart, I just never took school seriously. I have the ability to succeed. Will this somewhat unique pattern of events help me in pursuing my dreams?

It’s never too late till its too late. Sure you might be late in the game but all that can be said at this point is that do your best. If you are smart as a you say, and now that you are motivated, you will find where you need to be.

3 Majors seems kind of tough, maybe focus on 1 or even 2 majors, but 3 might be challenging?

In the end, you are still young. Take advantage of opportunities. That’s really the only advice anyone can give you, I think.
