I have attended a local school for my first two years of my college career. At the end of the summer, I will be transferring to a school that is three hours from my home. Can anyone give me advice on the transition? What’s it like to go from a small, local college to a large public university?
What is the difference in academic level of the two colleges? It may be a big jump in expectations…plus that fact that you will be taking mostly classes in your major. Don’t overload on classes the first semester.
See what the college does to support transfers…is there an orientation?
Also take steps to join clubs/groups to meet people.
Being 3 hours away you can’t easily go home for something…so plan any doctor/dentist visits before yougo.
