I’m applying as a film production major!
My top choices are UCLA, Northwestern, and Chapman, though I’m also applying to Berkeley, UC Davis, UCSD, UCSC, LMU, Baylor, ASU’s Barrett Honors College, Vanderbilt, CSUN, CSULB, SFSU, Wake Forest, TCU, UDub, UT-Austin, NYU, and the U of Utah. I’ve already been accepted to ASU, U of Kansas’ Honors College, DePaul, and CSU Fullerton, all for film.
Film for me has always been very meaningful, and an important way of expressing myself. At 2 1/2, I was diagnosed with Autism and needed to find alternative ways of communication, as verbal and social situations weren’t my strong suit. Film allowed me to do that. I’ve always been in love with film, and have been making short films ever since I was 9 years old. These films allowed an insight into my mindset that I had found difficulty expressing in the past.
I’ve made many short films in the past few years including an award-winner, which tells about my story with Autism. I also am the VP of my school’s film club, have taken Video Production classes at my school for 3 years, and have videographed certain events for my school’s college and career center. I aspire to, one day, become a director/actor and make films of my own.
