12 Grade Schedule:

AP Gov, AP Chem, AP Eco, AP Stats, AP Lit, Calculus

UM GPA - ~3.5
ACT - 31, 11 on essay
AP Scores: Bio - 5 US - 4
SAT IIs: Bio - 740 US - 680

Just wondering if I should even bother filling out the application.

you definitely should still apply…what kind of ec’s do you have? also, do you plan on retaking the act? a 33+ would really help you.

Yep, I’m going to take it in September and a 33+ is definitely likely. I have very minimal EC’s such as volunteer work @ hospital, part time jobs, camp counselor, and JV Football. Do you think forming a club such as a future doctors club @ my high school would help?

I do, but they might view it as “brownie points” because you are doing it in your senior year. Can’t hurt though. I would definitely retake the ACT for a better shot since GPA is below avg.

Would I be considered a huge reach or a slight? Lets say I receive a 33 ACT would this change me to a match? Also, could I send an application without my essay now, then send the essay later with my transcript, recommendations, etc.?

-probably medium reach (ACT is very solid, but GPA hurts you).
-33 ACT would definitely change you to a match
-You should just sent the whole app later, since they won’t evaluate you anyway until your entire app is complete.

GOOD LUCK!!!
