Any chances at all?

I’m concerned that Boston University is out of my league.
I attend to one of the most respected public schools in the nation out of Peachtree City, Georgia.

I have a unweighted gpa 3.16 (i know, very low)
255 out of 450 students

SAT score of 1870. W:600 CR: 580 M:690

Senior Schedule:
AP Environmental Science
Physics
AP Calculus
American Gov’t
AP Literature
AP European History

(ive taken honors courses since freshman year)

EC’s:
church youth minister
volunteer at discount store for the needy
countless number of church activities for the community
spanish club
varsity debate team
varisty math team

I also have two varsity football letters along with two varsity baseball letters.

I want to attend BU on a NROTC scholarship and major in mechanical engineering with an aerospace concentration.
Any advice or opinion would be a great help. Honesty appreciated. Thank you!

I think you have a chance for CAS/Engineering School your gpa is the only thing holding you back. Worst case scenario you will be put in CGS and you can transfer to the engineering school after two years.

I think you have a pretty good shot considering your high school (i’m guessing) is more difficult than most? Your SATs are in line with their higher averages and you’ve taken APs… so i’d say you will most likely get in.

I made it into BU with a fairly low GPA. It was a little bit higher than yours though. When I applied, I wasn’t expecting to get in. I also only took one AP course; you have taken several. You do have a chance.

Coincidentally, I’m also from Peachtree City!! (Although I went to a private school)
