Leadership

John F. Kennedy once said, Leadership and learning is indispensable to each other. In my experience, an excellent leader should have the ability to enrich himself/herself from programmed learning. As the president of the Observational Astronomy club in my school, I always plan, organize, and carry out responsibilities associated with the clubs chief executive role with other officers. Therefore our club members develop a strong connection with us. During the pep-rally, our club became the youngest attendant, and attracted many students. I am proud of being the president of this club, and am looking forward to exercising leadership in Green Mountain College community.

Environmental Awareness
Attracting by Green Mountain Colleges strong liberal arts courses of study with a focus on the environment, I decide to prepare myself for lifelong challenges, and hope to dedicate myself to every aspect of its community. I have developed a great interest in science since the first day of school, and science is always my favorite subject. Besides taking Advanced Placement Biology, I also enjoy gaining hands-on experience through volunteer service, such as Botanical Garden. Aware of experimental learning is very central to GMC education makes me take a liking to become a part of its family, and to immerse myself in this natural area.

Goal Accomplishment
To motivate young people to become better citizens. is the mission of Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. By joining JROTC in my high school, I set the goal of becoming a better person for myself. In order to reach my goal, the first thing I need to overcome is cowardness. From childhood, I have been regarded as the introverted girl who never puts herself into trouble. However, this shyness of personality established a wall isolated me from the rest. Long for friendship and communications makes me step out from my own world. Though it was not easy to change, it was not impossible to accomplish. Group projects, physical training, and individual presentations soon abandon the timidness. As the president of the club, member of different teams, and star volunteer, Ive already turned myself into a brand new person. I hope to be exposed to diversity of GMC.
