Any Drexel Questions/Prospective/Accepted Students

^^ plus annual increase;
minus earnings from 3 co-ops

Do the math to figure this out. Realistically, will you be able to put in all of your co-op money back into your tuition costs? This site may help: [Debt / salary wizard](<a href=“Mapping Your Future: Page not found”>Mapping Your Future: Debt / salary wizard)

I’ll be going to Drexel in the fall for Business Admin and I was really excited until my brother mentioned a friend of his the was really smart and went there. He was recommended by Drexel to go to MONCO because he wasn’t doing good at all. Am I going to have to worry about doing horrible? I am kind of freaking out now.

Does the school accept Post-Bacc students into the Civil Engineering Program? I know a lot of schools do not accept Post-Bacc students into undergraduate programs. What is Drexel’s Policy?

I was just accepted into the graphic design program at Antoinette Westphal college of Media arts and Design. However, my community college did not offer certain classes so I have to start as a non-matriculated student in about 3 weeks. I am a bit older then most students but I have never moved away from home (by this I mean out of the state of Florida). Since things are happening so quickly, can someone please give me some insight on housing? How quick is Drexel on paying out your loans to you after they have taken the tuition part? Is there any housing left at this time and are there any chances for free housing? I ask about free housing because I feel that I am at an age that I could possibly be an RA. Also, since its such a short amount of time I am afraid that I will not be able to find a sublet that I can afford. I figured the dorm was a safer route because the loan would be paid directly to them and then I could deal with fall housing later. I am doing this all on my own with loans, financial aid and no help so I am a bit stressed out. I hope that I am making the right decision to just pick up everything and move. If anyone can give me some insight I would greatly appreciate it. I really want to make this work.

Hey; If you do a co-op that isn’t in Philly, say you do a political science co-op in DC or even abroad; where would you live during the time of your co-op? Also, if spots are available, are you able to park cars on the streets near residence halls without parking permits for extended periods of time (5-6 hrs)?

L8Blmr, since time is so short for you, you should probably call the school directly and ask them your questions. Also, you might try posting this in a separate thread so it doesn’t get lost here. (Sorry, I don’t know the answers to your questions but congratulations on your acceptance!)

I will be attending Drexel in the fall, do any previous freshmen remember when your schedule was available on drexelone for the first time? I’m just really excited, or how does the process work? Do you have to pick the classes that you need for your major or does the school basically pick them out for you and you just have to pick your timeslots? About when does this all take place? June? July? August?

Sats i have 2000
math 650
reading 650
writing 700
and activities ive done is wrestling, soccer and chess club
will i get accepted?

Anyone know how to decline admission in the drexel login page? I’ve looked and cannot find it anywhere

Hi vincentvuong, you should be fine getting into drexel. My GPA was pretty bad, but I did amazing on my SATs and they let me in.

Hi summd14, expect to see it around late july to early august if I remember correctly. I’m a senior, so it’s hard for me to remember haha.

Drusain:

 1. Some co-ops will provide housing for you if it’s outside Philly. Some others will suggest housing and if neither of those options work, I found subleting options through craigslist.
 2. You can usually find free parking within 3 blocks or so north of the dorms, you just need to walk a little farther, and you can leave your car there as long as you want.

For all of you with questions about co-op.
DO CO-OP, USE IT! I honestly can not stress enough how important it is, to use your co-op opportunity. Having job experience in your field is going to give you a HUGE step up above the other competition, and it increases your chances of getting hired A LOT.

Is it possible to switch from 4 years with one co-op to the 5 year program with 3 co-ops? im currently signed up for 4 years but would like to switch to 5 years before i start school in the fall. if this is possible do i contact admissions?

Hi emmahoward,
It depends on your major, some majors only offer a four year program, but contact admissions and they can let you know whether or not it’s possible and put you in contact with someone who can help you make the switch.

How does co-op work for a student doing a double major? I am thinking of majoring in both Information Systems and Music Industry. If I were to do this, how would the co-op opportunities work for me? I think Music Industry only offers a 4 year/1 co-op program and the Information Systems offers a 5 year/3 co-op program. Would it be possible/allowed to arrange doing 2 co-ops for Information Systems and 1 for Music Industry?

Thanks.

What banks have the most ATMs around the Drexel campus? I’m trying to decide which bank to open an account with for my son (entering freshman).

Ross Commons - TDBank ATM
34th Street and Powelton Avenue

Main Building - TDBank ATM
32nd and Chestnut Streets

Creese Student Center - TDBank ATM
Chestnut Street between 32nd and 33rd Streets

7 Eleven – CitiBank ATM
34th and Lancaster Avenues

Sovereign Bank
32nd and Market Streets

Citizens Bank
34th Street between Walnut and Sansom Streets

PNC Bank
3535 Market Street

Wachovia Bank ATM at 30th Street Station
30th and Market Streets

WaWa Food Market – PNC ATM
38th and Spruce Streets
36th and Chestnut Streets

TDBank ATMs seem to be the most convenient around but on the downside, the nearest TDBank itself is near Wharton/on UPenn’s campus.

Hi everyone!

I’m entering as a freshman this year as a Bio major and I wanted to know how difficult it is for a freshman to transfer after Fall quarter? Financial problems will not allow me to complete four years there and I would like to transfer ASAP as to not put my parents through too much before they’re ready.

I’m looking at Penn State and Temple, but also other schools to see what kinds of financial aid packages they offer.

Also, when should I ask professors and advisors to fill out their reports? Some schools need their applications by the beginning of October and some by the beginning of November.

Thank you!
