I am coming in to NU as a junior and have most of my distro’s done except History (one more), Literature (one more), and possibly one more in Values. I am going to be jumping into 300-level classes for my major so I want my distro-filler classes to be as stressfree and painless as possible. I realize no class will be significantly easier than all other classes but if you guys could recommend me some classes/professors so I could look them up on CTEC, that would be great.

Thanks

wrong.

geology 101, geological hazards, introduction to music, psychology of gender (not all of these fit what you need but just general knowledge for people)

by the way bioethics is a very good way to fill a values distro without having to read locke, aristotle, etc. and confront contemporary topics. also the professor is awesome but doesn’t really help much with the actual material being learned)

AVOID: any art history class, roman civilization, european civilization, diversity of life, pretty much any class with the word “literature” in the name

also it is possible to take certain classes that count as a distro in both history and literature, or both history and values.

I talked to an advisor yesterday and he said “Intl St 201-1, Global Studies 1” was popular with students so I signed myself up for that. On CTEC it seems to be average (like 3.9 intellectual challenge, majority of students say grading is “fair”). It counts towards the History requirement.

I don’t see any of the classes you mentioned available this fall so I don’t think I have much of a choice.
