My husband actually calls it Good Buy (should be spelled Good Bye, really). I bought an unlocked phone there this weekend - saved me around $175 off a Galaxy S8 from AT&T. It was a nice transaction - although they didn’t offer to help with activation or point out that I needed a new SIM, when I called for help later they activated it over the phone in about 5 or 10 minutes (AT&T would have charged me for assistance activating it). The saleswoman was kinda flaky and swore that if I opened a Best Buy charge card, I would get an additional 10% off and they would mail me a check for the money. Well, the card agreement explicitly says store credit, not cash… so I will have about $50 to spend there. We were looking at accessories for the phone and they are all offered at list price. You can get hugely better values on Amazon. So my question is… has anyone actually find good prices on small items at Best Buy?
Best Buy price matches Amazon.
If the same item is available at Amazon and sold by Amazon, get BB to price match.
Excellent! They didn’t used to.
Yes, if you SHOW them a current screen shot of item sold on amazon.com by amazon, they have been matching since 2012, since that’s what they did for us back then. They won’t VOLUNTEER that they match but they do and just did last month when I asked them to match the price on the OtterBox Defender for my iPhone 6s. It has to be identical item, color, brand, etc.
Have very good luck at our Best Buy in CT and one in FL. They always match Amazon or any other price if it is the same model and a current price. I have found them to be very helpful with advice, activation and trouble shooting in the store for me. We are actually headed there this evening to look for headphones!
$300 off Galaxy S8+ for Verizon at Best Buy. The exclusive cobalt blue color also comes with a free matching case.
Got the $300 off Galaxy S8+ w/ another $200 from Samsung on a flash deal.
Wow, wish we were on Verizon! We also got coral blue - but no free case.
Actually years ago I needed a portable DVD player on short notice. I shopped online and then something made me think to call Best Buy instead of just going there. Turns out they charged more for it in the store than online and WOULD NOT match their own price. You had to buy online with sore pickup.
Yes, they are a bit quirky when they won’t match their own online price. I’ve never understood stores that expect to stay in business but have such odd policies. Sears tried to do this for our dishwasher but ultimately did give us the price we had been quoted after some discussion in the store.
We actually did quite a bit of shopping at BB in the last month or so.
Started with a new computer. With that I was able to get an HP printer for only $30.
Then we bought a 49" Toshiba HDTV for $269 after Black Friday in July sale and using $10 in rewards.
Son bought a 9.7 2017 iPad for $279 during the BF in July sale.
A couple days ago he bought a new mouse for his laptop. One day sale was 52% off and used $5 in rewards, so it was only $4.74.
I considered all good deals
Those are amazing deals! Sounds like BB must have lost money on each of your purchases. I wonder god hey stay in business? We bought my otterbox defender for $19.99, matching the Amazon.com price instead of the $39.99 it was marked.
I finally got my credit (had to call and ask for it) and was going to buy a wireless charger for $60… But Amazon has the same charger for $35, and Best Buy gets around the price match by having their own model number for it. This is what I don’t like about Best Buy. I think instead I will use my $60 credit for holiday shopping and use it toward an Instant Pot or Roomba.
When it was the same item and brand (Otterbox defender) and same color (teal) I got BedtBuy to give me Anazon’s Price. Neither of us looked at any model number.
