Does anyone know any good nursing schools in Florida or North Carolina. I am just now browsing colleges in and out of state.
UNC-Chapel is world class. But there are many other very good programs:
Florida Atlantic University
Florida International University
University of Miami
University of North Carolina-Greensboro
University of South Florida
The state of Florida has a bunch, all of which are good. Some are very selective (UF), which is why some students may decide on a slightly less selective school, like USF, UCF, UNF, etc, over UF, where there is a better chance of getting into the nursing program (without having to transfer to another school).
If you have questions about any of these schools, try posting your questions in the school’s forum, some are fairly active.
We are just beginning the search as well. In North Carolina East Carolina and UNC Wilmington both offer nursing programs in addition to UNC Chapel Hill
I’m looking as well in state and out of state. Though there are really no universities in South Carolina that catch my eye besides USC Columbia. Then again I have family in North Carolina. I heard ECU has a pretty good nursing program I don’t know much about UNC Chapel Hill’s nursing program or UNC Wilmington.
UNC Wilmington’s nursing program is excellent, one of the higher-rated departments that the university boasts. Although UNC Chapel Hill and ECU both have great nursing programs as well. UNC Charlotte is also one to look into. Don’t know very much about UNC Greensboro, though.
If money is at all an issue, go to an instate public U. If you may be wanting to get an advanced degree like APRN or PA, you can apply the saved money toward that. Find out where the nurses in your state got their degrees. Our CC grants nursing degrees and you can go an extra 2 years and get a BS/RN degree for a fraction of the cost of most other places. Your state may have similar programs.
I am just browsing colleges right now and just looking at where I want to go. There are no schools in SC that I am interested in besides USC Columbia. I’m leaning toward ECU & UNC Chapel Hill
Look at UNCW!!!

From another post, you mention that you’re transferring from a CC for THIS summer. That is more than just browsing. You don’t have time to waste looking at colleges that won’t be affordable.
Please ask your parents how much they’ll pay each year. That answer will likely determine where you should apply.
