Any Good Schools I can get into as a Statistic Majors??

Unweighted GPA: 3.40
Weighted GPA:3.813
SAT: 1310
ACT:25 (probably won’t send)
Major: Statistics
I’m going to be a senior and this year and in total of all my high school years will have taken 6 AP classes and a lot of honors.
I am the president of two clubs, and have some leadership experience but only through clubs at my school.
Is there any schools IN THE CITY(any city) and more than 10,000 undergrad enrollment. Also, I’m looking for schools that are under $25,000 preferably under $20,000 for tuition alone after scholarships. Keep in mind private schools tend to give more money even with not the best GPA.
I’m also a Virginia resident and the only school in VA that I can get into and really appeals to me is VCU and I for sure can get into there.

Maybe Temple? http://bulletin.temple.edu/undergraduate/fox-business-management/statistical-science-data-analytics/ You’re just above 75th percentile there. OOS tuition is 28K so it’s not farfetched that you could get enough merit to bring it into range; but the stats major is in the business school which might be more competitive, so hard to say for sure. They used to have predictable, automatic merit but they got rid of that and now it’s at their discretion.

U of Cincinnati has a BA or a BS in Statistics/Actuarial Science https://www.artsci.uc.edu/departments/math/undergrad.html It’s in a city and has 26K undergrads. The base OOS tuition is $26K, but you would get a $6K automatic discount coming from VA with your stats https://admissions.uc.edu/tuition-aid/scholarships/outreach.html (Perhaps other merit as well, but that gets you at least down to your $20K tuition threshold.) It has a higher acceptance rate than VCU but also a higher average SAT, so overall in the same competitiveness ballpark. Like VCU, it has a lot of great cultural stuff going on on campus, because of its conservatory. Similar percentage of students living on campus to VCU, as well. (21-22%) The city of Cincinnati is a little bigger than Richmond, but not enough to put it in a whole different category. So, on paper they’re quite similar, but worth doing a real-world comparison.

Private-wise, maybe look at Loyola Chicago? https://www.luc.edu/math/bsstat.shtml Your stats are above median but not above 75th percentile, so I don’t know if enough merit would be forthcoming, but maybe. DePaul? https://www.depaul.edu/university-catalog/degree-requirements/undergraduate/csh/mathematical-sciences-ba/concentration-requirements/Pages/statistics-concentration.aspx Loyola Maryland in Baltimore has a stats major too, and you’d be in the top quartile there. There are a lot of urban, Catholic U’s so maybe browse that genre - a lot of them don’t have separate stats majors so it depends how important that is vs. a math major with some emphasis on stats.

If you happen to be female maybe check out Simmons.

U of South Florida in Tampa.

http://www.math.usf.edu

Out of state tuition is around $18,000.

Also check out Florida International U in Miami…over 50,000 students, tuition is in your range.

Hurray for statistics!!! Perhaps just start listing schools with a statistics major and then read coursework. Statistics is a way of thinking and analyzing information, but where and how that happens depend on school orientation. For example, while there is overlap statistics, statistics in education evaluate academic programs, assessment, and so on. Statistics in engineering might consider how many people can dance on a sky walk or how much water a dam can hold. How do you want to apply your degree in statistics? After you search through programs and area of emphasis, you will then be in a position to consider attributes of potential colleges. Statistics is sufficiently esoteric and diffjcult, money may be offered.
