<p>While music, school spirit, and friends are what the typical student enjoys in band, i appreciate band for various other reasons. The first major life lesson i learned in band was in the seventh grade when the Midwest clinic invited our band to preform. While preparing i learned the importance of teamwork. I realized there is more to band than just playing your instrument. A big part of a team is motivating others to strive for the same goal. Another way band impacted my life is teaching me about leadership. In high school i was selected to join the band’s student leadership team. I quickly realized that leadership is more than a “bossy” attitude. Leadership is about being a creative teacher and a reliable role model and influencing others to accomplish the same goals . I plan to use these traits in other aspects of my life, like my career</p>
