I need a gift for a friend of my daughter’s, whose parents are holding a little reception for him graduation weekend. He isn’t a boyfriend or a best friend, just a nice guy she’s known for four years who has been helpful along the way. He’s an engineer who plays soccer.

You Will Find A Long List In The Parents Cafe.

I should have been clearer. This is a college graduation gift. I may have missed it, but on the Parent Cafe I only saw the beach towel idea (great, but I’m out of time) and some high school grad suggestions.

Not sure how much time you have…you can get some great things custom ordered online and shipped directly to the graduate…

A nice wallet… a very special book for his bookshelves (art, history…)
a small piece of original art (sometimes you can find neat little shops that have fun pieces) …a classic tie…an engraved pen…a leather toiletries bag for future travels…a special ice cream scoop (you know those ceramic ones that are sold at high end jewelry or crafts stores)…a pair of cuff links…depending on what he will be doing after graduation, a book on the city he might be moving to…or a leather photo album…a nice box for his dresser for change, cards, keys etc…
okay…I am at end of job on ideas…

Thanks maineparent, a nice photo album it shall be. Don’t know how I got so stuck trying to come up with a gift idea. My husband has been away on a long business trip and I’m getting ready for our travel to DD’s college graduation. I only have to show up, but somehow I’m a bit anxious, wanting it to be picture-perfect, I guess. Ah, I’m sure it will all be just fine.
