Any Hope????

So i'm a junior and I want to go to USC (like my dad)... I have a 4.2 weighted and am in AP and Honors classes.

Varsity tennis
State Champion
Crafts for kids club
Science Club
National Honor Society
Varsity Concert Choir
1000's of hours of community service
Volunteer at library and hospital

REALLY BAD SAT SCORES THOUGH (1720)...I'm going to retake them in June.

Is there still hope???? EVEN THOUGH I'M OUT OF STATE??????? If not any other California schools i should look at...UC's...SU's????

USC - reach

^ Harsh, but I agree it's a reach.

UCB/UCLA: Super Reach (out of state)
UCSD: Reach (out of state)
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Slight Reach (out of state)
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Match (out of state)

CaliGurl,

You should look at the US Service Academies.

<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a></p>

USC is private

But she does have Alumni relations--has your dad donated a wing of a science building perchance?

Wait am I missing something? I mean if you get your SATs up (2100) you seem comperable to any one I've seen get into any of those schools and your an alum kid at USC. I'm in state though, out of state admissions might be brutal. I'd look at other private schools; the Claremont Colleges and Occidental for example are in southern California and take out of staters; plus they are good schools. If you do only get into UCR and UCM I'd recomend not going. I mean your GPA can get you into schools that are good elsewhere. Riverside and Merced are hardly California.

USC is private; there shouldn't be much of a difference between in-state and out-of-state admissions. And I'm assuming by her username that she lives in California anyway.

But as far as your chances goes, I'd say it's a reach right now but your SAT score is pretty much the only thing holding you back. If you can get that up to say a 2100, you should have a pretty good chance.
