i’m a sophomore in college considering i banking.

i was premed until it finally dawned on me that i cannot stand another 4 years of school followed by residency followed by fellowship and THEN finally the private practice i’d been dying to join.

i know a few young i bankers, most at bulge bracket banks. all of them tell me the hours are very long and the work is very demanding, especially the first few years.

i discussed this with my father, a doctor, who mentioned that it wasn’t like a medical intern had an easy time, and they make about 60-80k less than first year i bankers.

i wanted to ask, for the older ones, does it get better and did you think it was worth it?
