Which school(s)? Why Ivy League specifically?

UPenn, Dartmouth, Brown, John Hopkins( I know it’s not technically Ivy), etc…

All four are reaches for almost everyone and reject files like these all the time.

OK, then WHY? Because they are status-y? The schools you mention are all completely different. The first part of getting in is demonstrating a sincere interest. Your list seems pretty random, apart from the prestige factor.

I know John Hopkiins has a great med school, so what are my chances there?

I think you have a good shot for Hopkins with these stats. But understand that they are one of the few schools that ask for a field of interest and it is much harder to get in there if you say pre-med or give a science major (assumed pre-med). Fully 50% of their incoming students are pre-med and they want to diversify this.

Brown, Penn, and Dartmouth = reaches RD and low reaches ED. Of those three, think about ED at Penn which has a very good med school and more students going into med school than any other Ivy League school (of course they are bigger than all but Cornell). Some other good pre-med programs to consider – Duke, Washington University (St. Louis), Emory.

Even Emory isn’t a safety so I think we need a safety pre-med to recommend also.

Try applying to UAB (University of Alabama in Birmingham) as a pre-med safety. One of the better med schools in the country, though prestige factor is not there necessarily…

You do not know until you try! If you craft a great application and show sincere interest you may get in - your stats are not out of the realm of possible. That being said have you considered some LAC’s? You have a strong arts/dance/choir background. You may want to take a look at schools such as Oberlin(OH), Carleton(MN), Vassar (NY), Wesleyan (CT).

Are you looking into your state schools? UF is a great school and will not cost you much money. Also, there are a few FL schools ( FAU & U South Florida - I think) that offer special programs that streamline you into their medical schools.
