<p>Twas not I, but Miss A who penned that accomplished dialog! Just spoke to my D on the phone. Poor thing has a cold and the only thing I could prescribe was OJ, bed rest, soup, and a hefty dose of Colin Firth in P and P.</p>

<p>Those of you who live in Southern California, might find the following “most diverting.”</p>

<p>BBC P and P is my favorite Austen film! Colin Firth is a great Darcy, and Jennifer Ehle really captured my idea of Elizabeth.</p>

<p>Have any of you watched “Lost in Austen”? Not high art by any means, but most diverting.</p>

<p>I watched it, but I didn’t love it. I didn’t care for the young woman who played the main character so much. I just didn’t connect with her or something.</p>

<p>I watched it, and liked it OK. I have the Gwyneth Paltrow version, too. Seen all the BBC ones. (and Cranford, and the various Dickens series. . .these are the only things I watch on TV)
The Emma Thompson/Kate Winslet S&S is one of my favs–seen it so many times I can recite the script.</p>

<p>Can’t wait for the film version of P & P and Zombies :wink: --my D gave me the book for Xmas–we are both Austen addicts</p>

<p>Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is hysterical. I’ve read the unzombified P&P maybe fifty times, and the zombies are fairly well integrated. “Girls! Pentagram of Death!” has become a catch saying in our house.</p>

<p>I could read *Sense and Sensibility *a couple of times per year. It’s my absolutel favorite Austen novel, though I like them all. My 16 y/o daughter started Emma this week as required reading for English class. She is the only one in her class who has already read it and seen the Gwyneth Paltrow movie multiple times. Today her teacher pulled her aside and told her to try to resist the urge to answer every question as she wants the other students to get involved as well. Daughter sheepishly agreed.</p>

<p>We did kind of a fun book club thing. In December, read “P+P”, then for earlier this month we each picked a “P+P” take-off, continuation or adaptation. I read the 2 “Bridget Jones Diary” books and part of one called “Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife” (Linda Berdoll), which I found in D’ bookshelf- they enjoyed lots of “marital bliss” couched in bad imitation Jane Austen language! Also (spoiler alert!), it turned out Mr. Darcy had a son fathered with one of the housemaids when he was a teenager (Darcy never knew), and Mr. Wickham turns out to be Darcy’s brother! Someone else read the Zombie one and there were a couple others. No one found one that they thought favorably compared to the original!</p>

<p>Has anyone seen the Emma version with Kate Beckinsale? It came after the Gwyneth Paltrow one and I really liked it. I “collect” Austen videos. My favorite is the Colin Firth P&P mini-series, but I love them all.</p>
