I’m a freshman at Stanford and I’m planning on major in economics. Assuming I don’t make top grades, are there any business-related careers that are out of my reach aside from Ibanking? I think I can keep a solid mix of B’s and A’s, but I’m not sure I can make the 3.5+ gpa that Ibanking firms are looking for.

Psshhh, a 3.5+ GPA is a lot easier to get at 'furd than it is if you went to Cal. ;)

Just do your best and don’t worry about it.

Consulting firms tend to weigh grades pretty heavily, but individual firms may or may not have a minimum GPA requirement.

I agree, at a big private it should not be a problem getting 3.5+, especially when taking grade inflation into consideration.
