Should I include any major JH achievements?
For instance, I got 3rd and 4th in the state spelling bee (which would be the equivalent of nationals in many states because my state only sends one person to the scripps-howard one on tv). Also, I got like 10th in a national private school spelling bee. Should I put this on my resume?

<p>Not to sound too harsh or anything, but in an age of electronic spell-checkers and internet dictionaries, isn’t the ability to spell strange and obscure words a rather worthless skill? </p>
<p>I think the general rule on JH achievements is that they’re not worth mentioning, with few exceptions. I think if I was MATHCOUNTS national champion or something it might be worth putting down (those kids are freaking amazing… they answer before I’ve read the question sometimes), but that’s a lot different than a state-level spelling bee.</p>
